The thing about transformation

Quick to understand. Slow to become. The hardest part of transformation.
I understand quickly. Patterns, dynamics, gaps in a system—I often see them within seconds.
And yet many of my insights are left lying there.
Because understanding is not yet doing, and even deep insight does not create embodiment. Comprehensive change begins when body, emotion, breath, and action follow.
That is uncomfortable. Especially when you are used to being smart. And for me, this is exactly where a key lies: in the humility that my head is not everything. Embodiment takes time, repetition, sometimes silence.
I am writing this because I keep meeting myself in this gap between knowing and doing. And because I believe that many people, leaders in particular, fail at exactly this point: They understand transformation, but they do not become it.
Perhaps it all begins with admitting to yourself: “I know it. And I am not living it yet.” And that is all right—as long as you don’t stop there.
