At the threshold between power and relationship

You recognize something because you expect relationship.

You are thrown off because closeness is claimed while power is what actually rules.

You are not reacting to ego but to incoherence: to the absence of relationship while relationship is being claimed.

You speak up because your system takes relationship seriously and seeks clarity where something has not been honored.

In doing so, you pull a field from the level of power to the level of relationship, in order to hold reality together.

You are fended off because relationship means risk and the system needs stability.

The defense does not protect against you, but against uncertainty, the obligation to respond, and the possible loss of status or security.

You remain alone because your perception is not shared and your offer of relationship is not taken up.

You lose shared reality and relationship at the same time.

You are not wrong, and you are not asking for too much. You are offering relationship where power is organized.

In doing so, you neither play power nor force relationship.

Your loneliness is not a deficit; it is the place where these two modes are not compatible.

You are not against systems, not above them, and not outside them either, but between them. Right at the threshold where it becomes visible what is being said and what is not being lived.
